How YouTube Channel Grades Work
Our YouTube Channel Grade Checker evaluates any channel across six key performance metrics and assigns a letter grade from A++ (exceptional) to D- (needs improvement). Unlike simple subscriber counts, our grading system provides a holistic view of channel health by analyzing engagement, content quality, and upload consistency.
Grading Criteria
Each channel is scored on a 100-point scale based on these weighted factors:
- Subscriber Count (30%): Total subscribers on a logarithmic scale. A channel with 1M subscribers scores higher than 100K, but the jump from 10M to 100M matters less than 1K to 10K.
- Total Views (20%): Lifetime view count on a logarithmic scale. Indicates overall reach and content longevity.
- Content Quality (20%): Average views per video. Channels where each video performs well score higher. A channel with 100 videos averaging 1M views each scores very high.
- Engagement Ratio (10%): Total views divided by subscribers. A high ratio means the channel reaches far beyond its subscriber base -- a strong signal of viral or search-driven content.
- Upload Volume (10%): Total number of videos published. Consistent creators who publish regularly score higher.
- Upload Consistency (10%): Videos relative to channel size. Channels that maintain a regular upload schedule for their subscriber tier score higher.
